Lodging

If you are planning on spending the night in the area, you should book a room ASAP. Hotels, motels, and B&B's in the area are filling up fast (we're in a race with other weddings!).

We have reserved 10 rooms at a small, independent, (funky?) and inexpensive hotel in Hudson, NY, called the Warren Inn. (Disclaimer: we have not seen this hotel in person.) The rate will be $65 per room for a room with two double beds. If you want to stay there you should call before June 1 and book a room under the Moran/Bustion wedding reservation.

The Columbia County Lodging Association also operates a hotline that may help you find available B&Bs (and some motels) too. They will have information on cancelations at all area B&Bs in the week or two before the wedding. Not all of the places they work with are near Philmont, so have a map available when talking to them.

Directions

Here are directions to the Summit Mill (27 Summit Street, Philmont, NY 12565) from the Taconic Parkway. The State Police are pulling people over constantly on the Taconic Parkway, so watch your speed. Philmont, NY is a village within the town of Claverack, NY, so if you are having trouble finding Philmont on a map or using GPS, look for Claverack.

Parking

Most people should park about a block and a half from the Summit Mill, on Lake Shore Drive, in the parking lot of the church that's for sale. It's a big parking lot, and directly across the street from the lake. You can't miss it.

If you (or one of your passengers) have difficulty walking, you can park right at the Summit Mill; there is room for about 8 cars nestled right up to the front of the building.

Ride-sharing

There are people coming from NYC who don't have cars. We will help coordinate ride-sharing and car-rental-cost-sharing. Please let us know via email if you can give someone a ride from the NYC area, or if you need a ride. We need to reduce the number of cars by as much as possible, for parking reasons (as well as all kinds of other reasons!).
